A Wyoming Love Story Rooted in the Land: Kerry & Luke’s Boulder Basin Wedding

A Love Born From the Land

The love for this land is what brought Kerry and Luke together. They both work for it, care for it, and live deeply connected to it. They met at work, and through exploring, hunting, and spending long days outdoors, they fell in love—not just with each other, but with the life they were building side by side in Wyoming.

A Ceremony Set in the Wild Heart of Wyoming

We began the day photographing a beautiful arch set up in the middle of nowhere in Boulder Basin, with the Wind River Range rising quietly in the background. The landscape felt vast and sacred, the kind of place that makes you pause and breathe a little deeper. It was the perfect setting for a couple whose story is so tied to the land.

Luke Getting Ready: Family and Familiar Ground

Next, we headed to photograph Luke getting ready, where we met his mom and dad. We shared a lovely, meaningful moment with them—one of those quiet pauses before the day truly begins. Luke got ready in a familiar place, a cabin where we had photographed Ryan and Jake’s wedding before. The rustic backdrop of the cabin made for spectacular photos.

Kerry Getting Ready: Joy, Laughter, and Love

Then we made our way to Kerry, who was getting ready at their beautiful cabin. We were greeted by her family, and the space was filled with laughter and love. Kerry’s wedding dress was stunning, and she looked absolutely gorgeous. Like every bride, she glowed—with happiness, excitement, and hope for the life she was about to begin with Luke.

Returning to Boulder Basin for the Big Moment

After getting ready, we headed back to Boulder Basin, where guests were waiting for Kerry and Luke’s big moment. Kerry’s family traveled all the way from New York, and Kerry and Luke wanted to truly impress them with the place they call home. Boulder Basin is their backyard—a place where they’ve spent countless hours together, getting to know each other and the land that shaped their relationship.

Heartfelt Vows Surrounded by What They Love Most

Their vows were some of the most beautiful we’ve ever heard. You could feel how deeply their love for this land is woven into their love for each other. Surrounded by family, friends, and the wide-open Wyoming landscape they cherish, their ceremony felt honest, grounded, and profoundly meaningful.

Portraits Among Friends, Family, and the Basin

After the ceremony, we captured portraits with their loved ones before moving into a romantic session just for Kerry and Luke. Boulder Basin felt like it belonged only to them in that moment. Watching their connection unfold was a gift—Luke, ever the gentleman, always taking care of Kerry, and Kerry meeting him with warmth and quiet strength.

A Western Reception Filled With Tradition

We then descended from Boulder Basin, and the reception took place at The Place. Here, Kerry and Luke shared their love for hunting with their guests in the most personal way possible—the main dish was their own elk, deliciously grilled by friends. It was heartfelt, intentional, and so deeply them.

A Wedding That Stole a Photographer’s Heart

Speeches followed, then the first dance. I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings, and none quite like this one. Every single location stole my photographer’s heart. Very western. Very Wyoming. This wedding is one I will always remember.

Wishing Them a Lifetime of Love and Adventure

We wish that your love for this land continues to grow in this new stage of your lives. May it keep your love strong, your bond rooted, and your days filled with many adventures—together, on the land that brought you home to each other.
