The key to creating a memorable senior experience is to find a photographer that understands the importance of making your personality shine.
And a big part of that has to do with the outfit you decide to wear to your photo shoot.
In this article, I will share with you the answer to a frequent question I get when planning a senior photo session: What should I wear?
So let’s dive into the wonderful world of creating memorable images while having a lot of fun at the same time.
The importance of your outfit for your senior session

First, the important thing is that you feel confident like yourself.
Senior portraits are meant to capture who you are at this moment in life, and a big part of it is expressed by the way you dress.
Your outfit can tell a lot about your personality, your passions, or a side of you that you want to explore.
What matters is that you feel comfortable.
That being said, if you have an eye for artistic expression, I want to share with you what an outfit can do for a picture.
Color composition and senior photos
Photography as a visual art allows the eye to be attracted by certain patterns or color schemes.
This is not as complicated as it sounds.
A trained photographer will play with the light, both natural and artificial, in a way that the colors in the backdrop and on the subject pop out and create a statement.
However, if you want to think about memorable pictures, you can try to imagine clothes or an outfit that express your personality or have something distinctive.
For example, wearing your leather jacket is a great way to use a color to enhance shots.

If you are not part of a school team, you surely have other hobbies that require a certain way of dressing.
Whether it is fly-fishing, restoring a car, being a firewoman or a hunter.
How many outfits should you prepare for your senior session
Now that you know the importance of staying true to yourself and working with your outfit, the next question is how many outfits can you bring to the session?
I personally recommend up to four and a minimum of two.
Depending on the package you choose, you can bring less or more.
This way, you can find an option that ‘suits you’.
And why a minimum of two?
Because this way, we can have different compositions and styles for you to choose from.

What not to wear?
To finish off, the only thing not to wear is something that you don’t like.
I am always open to your ideas and would love to meet to talk about the senior session you have always wanted.
